 * Jeremiah 27 starts with the same word as Genesis 1. This gives an important clue for deciding the grammar of Genesis: is it "In the beginning, God created . . . " or "In the beginning of God's creation, . . .  , God said . . . "?
 * "As it is written in the prophets . . . " Mark begins, combining quotations from Exodus, Malachi and Isaiah. Nowadays would you criticise that as vague or inaccurate? Are there pitfalls for modern readers in such composite references in the New Testament?

Edit this page to add discussion about the Daily Readings relevant to this wiki. However the New Testament readings are visited twice a year, so please put discussion and comments about Mark 1 on page DR:N205_806, which is automatically embedded here. (Click to leave this page and edit it.)
