29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.


Would Abraham have understood God's reference to "his seed" in the way that Paul does here? Clearly Paul's application does not change what Genesis actually means. This example is helpful in judging arguments based on composite New Testament references to the Hebrew scriptures.
