Panspermia

(The purpose of this brief note is simply to explain the term. For our purposes panspermia isn't significantly different from atheism.)

Panspermia is a speculation, dating at least from the ancient Greeks, that the entire Universe is teeming with life, and life on earth could have come from space. In the context of Origins that concerns us, it is occasionally found as a dismissive answer to the belief that the existence of a divine Creator accounts for life on earth:

— "Life is miraculous, there must have been a Creator"
— "Oh that? no, life isn't special, there might be life all over the Universe"
