19th Century

1873 Statement of Faith — "implantation of a physical law of decay, which . . .  while a man is yet alive, gives him, where it is left to its uncontrolled operation, a tendency in the direction of sin . . . "

20th Century

BASF#4 ". . .  Adam, . . .  created out of the dust of the ground as a living soul, or natural body of life, "very good" in kind and condition, and placed . . .  under a law through which the continuance of life was contingent on obedience"

BASF#5 ". . .  sentenced to return to the ground from whence he was taken — a sentence which defiled and became a physical law of his being, and was transmitted to all his posterity"
