Local circumstances have sometimes led ecclesias to make modifications to their statements of faith. With the passage of time some of these modifications can become somewhat unfathomable. Others retain their importance to the individuals concerned.

Military and Political Service

35.—That we are at liberty to serve in the army, or as police constables, take part in politics, or recover debts by legal coercion.

This clause does not appear in the SOF posted at http://www.christadelphia.net.au/frames/ourbeliefs.html. It has been modified over the years, I believe that "or as police constables" was added in 1912? But who are you? MCo (talk)

Marital status

Some ecclesias have incorporated statements about divorce, etc.

Evolution

Some ecclesias have added clauses explicitly rejecting evolution. For example, in the version downloadable from http://www.christadelphia.net.au/frames/ourbeliefs.html, the clause "That creation is compatible with evolution" is listed. [broken link]

Berean Christadelphians

The Berean Restatement strongly rejects the teaching of evolution. This document may or may not have substantial significance to the Berean community.
