 * The KJV translates 1 Corinthians 15:47 as "The first man is [not “was”] of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven." Other translations, e.g. NRSV, supply was. Both translations are possible. Does the context help? Follow the links from the verse to see arguments for both.
