* Jesus' answer to the divorce question in Matthew 19 has been taken as proof that he understood all of the narrative in early Genesis as being literally true. On the other hand it is pointed out that in the actual "beginning" text (Bereshith, from Genesis 1:1) we read that "adam" (humankind) was made male and female, given dominion, etc, before the end of
the week! What would you say?
