 * Verse 13 of the Amos reading has five verbs, all in the present tense, praising God's ongoing creation — but many translations convert some or all of these to present tense. Are you uneasy with the five present tense verbs? Should God be praised because he makes mountains, or only because he made them? Compare the link to the Isaiah passage, with its focus on the past.
 
 * Does 2 Timothy 1:9-10 teach that the need for salvation by grace was foreseen "before the world began"? before time began? Salvation from what? See a variety of translations here and more Bible references at Before the foundation of the world.
