Our template for Reconciliation Challenge is this:

  • understanding(s) of Scripture:

<!-- State clearly the (mis)understanding(s) of Scripture which give rise to the Reconciliation Challenge. -->

  • discoveries of Science:

<!-- State briefly and clearly the discoveries of Science which give rise to the Reconciliation Challenge. -->

  • summary of the Reconciliation Challenge:

<!-- This summary '''must''' be brief and impartial. -->

A casual reader should see at a glance a summary of

(1) what people say the Bible says;
(2) discoveries of science;
(3) a summary of why there is or might be a challenge to reconcile the two.

If (1) and (2) are done properly then (3) will be obvious, perhaps even redundant.

Discussion and argument is not relevant.

The next step following is "Editors' endorsement of this summary of the problem" where a majority of us sign off agreement "that this is an accurate statement of the problem."

  • Later,* after we have reached agreement that the RC is well defined, it's time for a survey of Solutions already proposed:

<!-- This is the place for references and links to solutions proposed by people who have already addressed the problems, with brief annotations expressing our view(s) about them. Expect disagreement in this section. If necessary discussion should move to the "Discussion" page, or to a completely new page with an appropriate title. It is particularly important to identify yourself with "~~~" if you are exchanging points of view that are in conflict, or even just different. -->

* We thought this through carefully and it will work.
