22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

This is an example of a Composite Reference, joining together Isaiah 35:5 (Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped) and Isaiah 61:1 (. . . the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound).
