BibleOld TestamentGenesis
KJV

Whoso sheddeth man's (האדם) blood, by man (האדם) shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man (האדם).

This passage is an example of the usage of Hebrew adam, האדם (ha adam) in all three occurrences: generic singular humankind, compare "the almond tree" and "the grasshopper" in Ecclesiastes 12:5. See The human race.
