- Behemoth is usually a common noun meaning "beast" in the Bible (e.g. Isaiah 30:6-33) possibly referring to a hippopotamus or crocodile. It may also refer to the personified sea in Job ch. 40, where it appears with Leviathan. See the Jewish Study Bible's extensive scholarly notes ad. loc.
- In the view of "Answers in Genesis", Behemoth is a dinosaur.
