Reconciliation Challenges

From Reconciling understandings of Scripture and Science
Jump to navigationJump to search

Our task is to explore the reconciliation of "our various understandings of Scripture with the discoveries of science".

Many misunderstandings arise from underlying issues relating to beliefs, assumptions, and/or simply not knowing about the Bible, science, truth and logic. To organise our discussions and our thinking, we first consider general Problems (such as lack of common ground regarding what is "evidence", for example) and Questions of fact (such as the meanings of a particular Hebrew word).

This leaves us with an apparent or actual conflict between our understandings of Scripture and one or more discoveries of science. This conflict we take as a "Reconciliation Challenge".
