This page refers to "the tree of life" in the Bible. For biologists' "Tree of Life" see here.

The symbolic use of this tree in Revelation and its metaphorical use in Proverbs are sometimes taken to suggest that it is also symbolic in Genesis. See also The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

See Islip Collyer: "the two trees" for a modern metaphorical application of the concept of the Tree of Life.

This article in Lampstand magazine appears to suggest that a literal Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is an essential part of the "rationale" of Jesus Christ and his Gospel of salvation, but does not mention the Tree of Life.

Bro Alan Fowler argued that the Tree of Life is reason to believe that Adam was created mortal — see at Revelation 22:1-2,14.

How should we understand the Tree of Life?

See How should we understand the Tree of Life? and Talk:How should we understand the Tree of Life? for discussion about whether Adam’s death was the result of being denied access to the Tree of Life.
