BibleOld TestamentJob

See, before God I am as you are;
    I too was formed from a piece of clay.           (NRSV)

Behold, I am toward God as you are;
    I too was pinched off from a piece of clay.           (ESV)

See Made from the dust. The BASF Clause 4 references this speech of Elihu's — and Eliphaz's in 4:19 — when speaking of "the first man ... Adam, whom God created out of the dust of the ground as a living soul, or natural body of life..."

As can be guessed from the ESV translation, the verb is not one of the Created, Formed and Made group. It's קָרַץ (qarats), meaning pinch, also wink. — Bruce (talk)
