11 The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.
See Fiat Creation — this verse is useful in illustrating how a literal reading can misunderstand Biblical references to divine commands, such as in Psalm 33:6-9. Clearly the fact that "the Lord gave the word" does not imply that the great company of preachers instantly came into existence.
