 * How many metaphors are there in Isaiah 66? It might be more feasible to count them in the first two verses! Why does God communicate to us in metaphorical language?
 
 * Your heart is a blood pump: is it possible to be "meek and lowly" in it? Was Jesus wrong when he said that he was "meek and lowly in heart"? (Matthew 11:29) See The Heart: there is no doubt that people believed, wrongly, that our heart is the organ in which we think. Was Jesus wrong when he mentioned the size of mustard seed? Can we accept that the Lord Jesus, and the Bible itself, reflect the beliefs as well as the language of the times, as described in this essay?
